PART 2

Installation and configuration of the VistaPoint Server after you have completed (PART 1)

  1. Install the Server Components for CCM
  2. Install a Desktop Application - to see what is happening in the system
  3. Configure the Cisco SIM (AXL)
  4. Configure the Cisco SIM (Directory)

1) Install the Server Components for CCM
Decompress the server.zip file and run setup.exe - select\add the “Cisco SIM” - You can add additional components later

2) Install a Desktop Application
This will allow you to see what is happening in the Server as you configure each part. Initially you will only see parking numbers if you have them configured in your system

3) Configure the Cisco SIM (AXL)
After you configure the device settings you should see all the Cisco Phones that are monitored

4) Configure the Cisco SIM (Directory)
Once you configure the directory tie your Cisco defined “device” name will be replaced by friendly names as they are defined in the system. This example shows how Call Manger 5.x-6.x has simplified the process for 3rd party developers to pull that information through AXL
